AFCAT Eligibility Criteria

Nationality
Candidates must be citizens of India.

Age Limit

• Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years (born between 2nd January 2001 and 1st January 2005)
• Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branches: 20 to 26 years (born between 2nd January 1999 and 1st January 2005)
• Note: Upper age limit for candidates with a valid Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxed up to 26 years.

Educational Qualifications

• Flying Branch: Graduation (three-year degree course) in any discipline with at least 60% marks. Must have passed Maths and Physics at 10+2 level. BE/B.Tech graduates with 60% marks are also eligible.
• Ground Duty (Technical Branch): Minimum four-year degree graduation in Engineering/Technology. For Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics), candidates need a degree in Electronics Engineering or related disciplines. For Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical), a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines is required.
• Ground Duty (Non-Technical Branch): Graduation degree in any discipline with at least 60% marks or equivalent. Specific qualifications for Administration, Logistics, Accounts, and Education branches apply.

Physical Standards

• Height and Weight: Minimum height for men and women is 157.5 cm with correlated weight.
• Visual Standards: 6/6 vision in one eye and 6/18 in the other, correctable to 6/6 for hypermetropia.

Marital Status

• Candidates below 25 years must be unmarried. Married candidates above 25 years are eligible but will not receive married accommodation.

AFCAT Examination Procedure

Exam Pattern

• Mode: Online (Computer-Based Test)
• Duration: 2 hours
• Questions: 100 multiple-choice questions
• Sections: General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning & Military Aptitude Test
• Marking: Each question carries 3 marks, with a negative marking of 1 mark for incorrect answers.
